the New York Times
Just did a phoner with the New York Times. They wanted to talk to me about an article they are doing on bands from the NYC suburbs that don’t pretend to be “New York Bands” and don’t focus on NYC as the end-all be-all.
It was fun. Told her how we refuse to play the 7 PM on a Wednesday at Arlene Grocery Industry Showcase circuit. Told her how New York bands never have their own gear, and never know how to load in, set up, and load out like pros.
There are things you learn by leaving New York. We have learned a lot of things!
Not sure when the article is running. I’m sure Peter Grant will let you know when it does.
