About This is a Stickup
The Milwaukees darkest record to date. Features the single “Angel With A Knife.” The band enlisted the services of the legendary indie-rock producer, John Agnello (Jawbox, Dinosaur Jr) for this LP. Though it was never officially released in the US, it was licensed for simultaneous release in Canada, the UK and Japan.
“Stickup is dark and defiant. It combines turbulent and explosive guitars with edgy, heartfelt vocals, smart hooks, and convulsive energy.
Guitarist Jeff Nordstedt said of “Stickup”, “I think we all had a chip on our shoulders when we recorded that. When I listen to it now I hear a band that was kind of pissed off and trying to prove something. In retrospect, I’m not sure what we were trying to prove. I think we didn’t know at the time either.”
Regardless, this 11-song release is a triumphant effort and a must have for any devoted fan of driving, emotive rock.
