Just wanted to let everyone know that we are currently taking time to finish recording and mixing about 18 songs that have been in the works over the past 2 years or so. During that time we were trying to keep playing shows and finish the recordings simultaneously. We also kept writing new material at the same time. The result was a lot of half-finished recordings. We decided to put the breaks on and just focus on finishing all of the recordings and figuring out how to release them.

The music business has changed so much. We now have lots of different options for how to get the music to you. We’re happy to be releasing the next batch of tunes on dPulse Recordings, with distribution through InGrooves/Universal. We are still trying to figure out exactly what format to release everything in. So stay tuned for updates.

We’re also gearing up for a video shoot at Asylum Studios in the wilds of Pennsylvania, so hopefully the new stuff will be packaged with some video content as well. Needless to say, we have lots to sort out.

We’ll resume a more rigorous touring schedule as Spring approaches. In the meantime keep your eyes peeled for news, new music leaks, and maybe even a private show opportunity.

Tap Tap Revenge

imageSo we’ve finally cracked the video game market! Nothing that will put us on Easy Street just yet. Unfortunately you can’t beat up any hookers, hit any homers, or kill any Nazis while playing the game we are in. But hey, its a start. If you are an iPhone user, you can now play along to the Break Up Song on the Tap Tap Revenge app. For the uninitiated, TTR is kind of like a cross between guitar hero and Dance Dance Revolution for the iPhone (and iPod Touch). Break Up Song is available for free on the “hard” level. Though I gotta tell you, I checked it out and it didn’t seem so hard to me. But maybe that is just because I actually played a REAL guitar on the song.

Anyway, find out more about it here.

Doing Something Good (For Once)

Rock and Roll is generally a pretty narcissistic endeavor. We write songs in hopes that they’ll you’ll love us. We turn our amps up really loud to be sure that you’ll hear us. We stride around like we’re the most important people in the world when we play a show because we want you to think that we’re special and worth the price of admission. This is how we (and I am using the royal we to refer to everybody in a band, not just our band) are, and that is fine. All is how it should be.

This weekend that whole dynamic is being turned upside down. A bunch of musicians are getting together to raise money for charity in a softball tournament. We’re joining in the fun. This means that our usual swagger will be replaced by an almost comical athletic ineptitude. This means that for once we are doing something that isn’t all about us. It is for a good cause. So please head here to donate a few bucks. Or come come out and watch us play. You can donate at the game. There will be charity raffles all day long. We have donated 5 flash drives filled with our entire catalog of music and lots of other bands have donated lots of great stuff as well.

There is also going to be some great raffles at the game with prizes ranging from a website design and hosting, a studio photography session to gift certificates to lots of local restaurants, clubs and shops. If you want a chance to win, but can’t make it to the game, you can buy raffle tickets online. Here’s how:

- Go to www.paypal.com
- Click Send Money (then Send Money Online)
- Put this email in the Send Money To field: horan@verizon.net
- Fill out your info (do not forget name & phone so you can be contacted)
- Donate in multiples of $10
- In the note field state that it’s for raffle.

Moira will allocate tickets on your behalf and notify you if you win!

Good luck!

One last note. Generally there is an inverse relationship between musical ability and competitive athletic fire. It should be known that the Milwaukees either break this rule or we’re not very talented musicians, because damnit, we DO NOT intend to lose at a sporting event. Last year we lost to Arlan Fieles, and we’re still upset about it. This year we want revenge. Seriously. You have been warned.
